Picture this, it’s 2016 on a hot, late August day. You walk into your local watering hole looking for a crisp, refreshing Pilsner, yet you are met with a tap list 48 beers long, all containing the words “hazy” or “new england.”
“Why must I suffer in this thick, hoppy hell?” you wonder.
“Is there a place for me and my love of clean lagers?”
Yes, my friend, there is.
Some may say Pilsnerfest is more of a state of mind than a physical event, they would be right, and wrong. An illusive yet very much real practical joke became a gathering meant to celebrate lagers and cast a stone at the Hazy IPAs and major beer festival culture of the late 2010’s, all while raising money for local mutual aid organizations.
Going into it’s 7th edition this fall, Pilsnerfest at it’s core is a reason to get together with your buds, drink some good beer, and raise money for your community.
Pilsnerfest has partnered with Holy Mountain Brewing, Lucky Envelope Brewing, Seattle Beer School, Bottleworks, Slowboat Travern, among others.
